Lions prevail despite of HEAT!!!

For a September it was an extremely hot day for football. Coach Lou keeps water and fluids flowing doing timeout.
Fort Worth, Texas— We must start out with an apology to the Flag Football team. Didn’t have enough staff to cover the first game- due to difficulties beyond our control. We can report that our back-up eyeballs informed that the Flag team fought to a 0-0 tie.
It was getting quite warm when we arrived for the C-Team kick-off. The temperature continued to rise as the C-Team took a commanding 16-0 lead at halftime of their game. #25 for the Como Lions scored on two long runs despite the fact that he long gainer’s; 2-3 TDs called back.
The Ft.Worth Falcons fought back and refused to give up as they mounted a second half comeback that fell just short. Final score; Lions 22- Falcons 18.

The mighty Lion B-Team still struggles with turnovers and penalties. Understanding that’s part of the process of learning the game the Falcon B-team exhibited the same traits. Falcons scored toward the end of the 3rd quarter and failed the extra point attempt. The Lions mounted a fierce drive with a little over a minute left as time ran out before they could make one last attempt at a score.
The A-Team seems just putting polish and shine on their game. Their running game has proved to be a potent weapon led by their speedy running back T. Jackson. Though the A-Team backfield is loaded with talent they have an immensely talented offensive line that opens big holes for whoever gets the ball.

As mentioned earlier the heat played a factor in this game being called at halftime. T.Jackson took two hand-offs both for over 70 yards as well as an interception for about the same that gave Como a convincing 22-0 halftime lead. Cooler heads prevailed as both coaches put down their wolfing at each other and had a Kum-Ba-Ya moment awarding Como the victory with the Falcons agreeing to forefeit the remainder of the game due to excessive heat.
